The Abron tribe of the Akan is one of the smaller tribes in Ghana and one of the few matrilineal societies in West Africa. The biggest one beeing the Ashanti.
Akan and Ga-Adangme are peoples of the Gold Coast.
This is a XIXth century beaded feminity statue with a good natural patina and sensitive expression.
