This Botchio statues is coming from an old lady in Brussels who bought it in the
early seventies on the Sablon.
This Botchio statue served in the Vodun ceremonies.
The idea was to get in in contact with the spirits of another world, and to
chase the bad spirits. This was done under the order of the deviner; Fâ.
Sculpted wood, with blood offerings (I don't need a DNA analysis to tell ! ),
palm oil, beer, metal, cowries shells, textiles.

wooden plug is inserted in a hole on the back ( see images below the page)
All these elements enhanced the power of the statue.
