According to the royal history this mask represent the brother of the king who became mad because he killed the king's nephew, the white line above the eyes (on this mask woven with glas beads beeing proof) This mask also always has a big noise, and the dancer could look through the nose holes when dancing. The Kuba Kingdom was founded in the 16th century by the Bushoong people, and still have a king alive (I think it is the twenty first). The Bushoong kings live in a palace known as Mushenge. Each clan pay a tribute to the Nyim king and in echange the king is responsible for weath and fecondity.
