The Mossi from Burkina Fasso. At the end of the fiftteenth century, warrior ancestors of the Mossi people establishhed an empire among the White Volta River (now called Nakambe) Basin.
This centralised society produced a tradition of figural sculptures connoting chiefly prestige. Clear traces of offering on these two impressive Bwaba couple statues.
