Senufo harp top SOLD
Price SOLD Height: 26 cm The Senufo loves to play music and sing on many occasions. They mainly live from agriculture. A very animistic society the Senefo believe that everything is a result of the ancestor spirits, they have many secret society's like the Poro and the Sandogo. You will find mostly female representations in the Senufo art, since Divination, which is governed by the Sandogo society, is an important part of Senufo religion. Although Sandogo is usually considered a women's society, men who are called to the profession and inherit through the matrilineal line are permitted to become diviners. This is one of my favorite pieces I have a this moment. The expression is very nice, and it has a real nice patina due to years of manipulation.
